About Suzanne

Author. Mentor. Strategic Thinker.

“Either write something worth reading or do something
worth writing about.” — Benjamin Franklin

Suzanne Scheideker Cook has spent her life doing both.

Whether on the page or in professional practice, Suzanne’s work has always been rooted in growth, resilience, and thoughtful reflection. From rising through the ranks in public service to mentoring emerging leaders and writing stories that illuminate the human experience, Suzanne’s journey has been defined by perseverance and perspective.

She began her career as a clerk typist with the City of Los Angeles and worked her way into senior management. Along the way, she learned firsthand that success is rarely accidental. It is shaped by preparation, accountability, integrity, and the courage to be honest with oneself. Those lessons now form the foundation of her writing and mentorship.

As the author of A Mentor At Your Fingertips, Suzanne offers practical guidance for women navigating careers in conservative and complex industries. Her work combines lived experience with structured reflection, helping readers develop clarity, confidence, and strategic awareness.

Beyond mentorship writing, Suzanne also writes creative nonfiction and fiction that explore identity, gratitude, resilience, and transformation. Her short story “Between Two Worlds” was shortlisted in the international “Ink of Ages” writing competition sponsored by the Encyclopedia of World History and is being published in an anthology.

In addition to her literary work, Suzanne serves as a consultant within the construction, transportation, and logistics industries. Her technical writing and strategic communication are informed by decades of experience in public agencies and a deep respect for clarity and precision.

She has also mentored graduate business students at the University of Redlands School of Business, where she continues to encourage critical thinking, professionalism, and personal accountability.

At the heart of all her work is a simple belief: perspective changes everything. Whether through mentorship, storytelling, or strategic communication, Suzanne seeks to guide others toward thoughtful growth and meaningful transformation.

If her work resonates with you, she invites you to join the conversation.
